Back in Bangkok (en route to Kho Samui)

Just a quick post to say that we are back in Bangkok after a great three days in Kanchanaburi. Will write a longer message with photos when we are in Khoi Samui (this internet cafe is a very expensive). Spent the last three days an hour and a half outside of Bangkok visiting the Bridge over the river Kwai, POW cemetery (Australians, British and other soldiers who died building DEATH train for Japanese who had invaded Thailand in 1943), the Hellfire Pass musuem (told of terrible conditions of POWs, many who died from disease, malnutrition or beatings from Japanese). We spent two nights on a floating guest house on the River Kwai. Amazing place, very serene and tranquil and met lots of interesting people - 'Palestine', 'Dutch', 'Stockport' - everyone went by their country name it seemed! Yesteday we visited Erawan waterfalls and in the afternoon amazing Lawa caves with stalagmites and stalactites. Today we went elephant washing (swimming with them) and after that elephant riding. We catch our train to Khoi Samui (also will take a ferry) in about an hour.
